Chambers Gorge Rock Pool "WIP" ten

Although not perfect the image for todays update is much closer to the real life colour of the Chambers Gorge Rock Pool, where as yesterdays was saturated with a lot of red.

Todays progress consists of more glazing over the still water along with grasses amongst the rocks. Also another layer added to the foliage of the trees in the background along with some timber. More flicks of colour were added to the mat of grass in the middle ground.

Strangely enough the more I do to this painting; another area then needs to be worked on. It is like playing 'catch up' at all times and yep that means I will be catching you with another post once more on this subject. smile

The water looks wonderful, the reflections of the rocks on the water and the transparency of the water leave me in awe. I really need to practice portraying water now. :)

Vyoma there is some more work to be done in the background area on the right side as well as check that my values are what they should be. I also need a nice day outdoors to take a final photo with good colour to post to this blog and printing purposes. At the moment the weather where I live is very dull and not all that great for taking photos of artworks.

Diane thanks and seeing you here reminds me that I want to make a comment on your business card post, which I will do as soon as I am finished here. ;-)

Jennifer you have used the keyword to what needs to be done when learning something that we are not very familiar with and that is 'practice'. I am only just feeling a bit confident with still-water and now wanting to stretch myself further by attempting moving water. I do not expect to be successful in the early stages because it will be a steep learning curve for me but at least I won't be bored while trying. :-D
